Yet another Kelsey quote

With FEELING, while looking at a museum display showing a human stomach and esophagus, "I'm glad we have skin!"

FFF - Friends, part 2

Excessive, I know, but once I got started I couldn't stand to stop. :-)

FFF - Friends

This week's theme is friends. It was so much fun, I think I am going to make a second post with even more pictures!

I included this picture of Caitlyn, Keegan, and Kelsey because thankfully, my girls are great friends!
This is one of MY very best friends, Carol. She has been a wonderful friend, mentor, and inspiration to me for over 25 (WOW) years now.
This is Caitlyn and one of her very best friends. They look enough alike that people sometimes mistake them for sisters.
Some more of our good friends at our church's Nativity pageant. Again with our close friends. The moms didn't arrange this picture. The kids were being a train and I just snapped it. I thought it was so cute. `

P.S. I didn't put the other kids' names since this is on the web and I didn't want to put pictures naming someone else's child without the moms' OK.

We're baaaaack

We just got back from a much-enjoyed family vacation. We visited three cities, had a ball, and are now back home.

Caitlyn and Keegan peering out from a treehouse window in Indianapolis. The Indianapolis Children's Museum is huge - 5 stories. It was our main destination. We had been there several years ago and wanted to go back to it.
Kelsey in the same treehouse. You can tell she liked the ladder that went down through the tree trunk.
When we were coming home I asked the girls what they had especially enjoyed. Each one mentioned the carousel.

Keegan ready to climb the rock wall.
Even my girly girls enjoyed driving this mini-bulldozer.

We made cheese in these tiny tubes in a lab (thankfully without having to use actual rennet.)

Like mother, like daughters - We finally found a replacement camera for the one Caitlyn received for Christmas (which never worked right despite us trying three different ones.) This was her first big chance to use it and use it she did! Keegan and Kelsey each bought a disposable camera with her own money. Between the three of them and me, we have a VERY well documented trip :-). Caitlyn looks so cute in these overalls. I think she only packed them because she didn't find the other pants she wanted. Maybe I need to stay behind on the laundry -hee, hee.

Kelsey loved being inside a bubble.
All three girls enjoyed playing virtual soccer. Working together, they could cover almost the entire goal, so they made a very effective goalie :-).

Poor Keegan with her arm in a sling. - This is really the pediatrician's office in a Lexington museum.
Caitlyn, Keegan, and Kelsey played a silly game every night with Keegan being Sharpay (High School Musical character), and Caitlyn and Kelsey being Sharpy and Shar-pet. It had them rolling with laughter every night.
P.S. in case anyone wondered - Keegan and Kelsey have gotten new hair cuts since my last post.
More pictures soon, bye for now :-)

Another Kelsey Quote

While reading Dr. Seuss, "He sure is making a big fuss about these green eggs and ham. If it were me, I would just eat them, so they would be gone!"

Kelsey Confetti

Kelsey and Keegan love gathering confetti after the show. Not only do they love to play with it on the stage, they love to bring it home! I have finally wised up and limit the bringing home to one baggie-full per person :-).

ShowTime!

Right now, we are in the midst of one of our favorite shows, ShowTime! It is a musical variety show with all kinds of singing and dancing. Keegan and Kelsey are both in it this year. They especially like the fact that they get to wear FIVE different outfits. Poor Caitlyn isn't in it because of scheduling conflicts, but she is keeping a good attitude and even helping me out backstage.

Ready for rock

Those late night rehearsals take a lot out of you!

Kelsey Quote

After listening to the lyrics to a song from "The King and I" - "Well, what if someone listened to him sing the song so whenever he whistled a happy tune they did suspect he was afraid?"

4th of July celebrations

Hope everyone had a happy 4th! I don't know what came over Bill, but he took the girls to 2 (yes, 2!) different celebrations by himself. So they had lots of fun, fireworks, and inflatables, and Mommy had lots of rest.

Whee, Kelsey! Caitlyn heading into the obstacle course

Face painting on Caitlyn and Keegan
They ran into some of our best friends -yay!
Kelsey bouncing out of the tiger slide. More face painting on a sweet Keegan
And finally, sparklers at home.

Love that tummy.

FFF - Dancing

This week's theme of all things is - DANCING! Could have been custom picked for my girls. Since I post so many dancing pictures, I decided to go to pre-blog times and choose from those.
First, HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!
Now, on to the photos...
These are both Caitlyn in the Nutcracker. She is far right in the front row on the top one, and in the black dress (dancing with her Daddy) below. Keegan and Kelsey were also in the Nutcracker, but I didn't find any good ones of them actually doing their dances. (Lots of silly faces, though :-).

Kelsey in ballet class. Those yellow shorts frequently double as her "famous hat."
Caitlyn doing the Fling in Brigadoon. That show was so much fun for her.

Keegan (on the left) in ballet class. I love this silhouette picture.
Kelsey in class again. This was last September, but she already looks so much older.

In May, 2007, a group from our studio went to the Piccolo Spoleto festival in Charleston, SC. The next pictures are from that trip. This was the first time Caitlyn was lifted (she is the one sitting up high there.) She was nervous, but very excited. The boy holding her is the ballet teacher's son, who was also the owl in Sleeping Beauty. He is very sweet, always willing to fill in when they need a guy, and does an excellent job, too.

Caitlyn got to perform a solo dance, which she loved. It was very slow and controlled, which suited her well, although I did a lot of cringing and saying, "ow."
Also at Spoleto, they did a couple of Scottish dances. Caitlyn is in the center, and Keegan is on your right.

Well, as I am looking back over this, I seen that poor Keegan is not well represented at all. Oh, well. I'll just go with the pictures I have and everyone can imagine how cute Keegan is when she's dancing :-).
