Auditions and rehearsals
Keegan, the poppy, at The Wizard of Oz, posing on the sleeping lion.
The 4 Pevensie siblings, before they are whisked away into Narnia.
Lucy (AKA Caitlyn) and Aslan

It's a ballet bag, it's a lunch box, No, it's Kelsey, in a cubby, watching rehearsal.
Keegan and her good friend Sophia entertained themselves for quite a while with these balloons.

Kelsey, on the left at Prince Caspian auditions. She did great with the marching, but definitely hesitated when her teacher told her to stab her (the teacher) in the toe! LOL

Lucy and Aslan, again.
Caitlyn listening to her teacher. She looks so serious, you would never know she LOVES it!

Like mother, like daughter (again)

So happy together...
Well, I can't believe it has been a full week since I last posted. It has, naturally, been a truly full week. Rehearsals for both "Wizard of Oz," and "Prince Caspian" are in full swing. We also got together with some friends and Caitlyn and I got to go watch a Christian ballet company perform. We have all played MANY games of Connect 4, which Keegan received for her birthday and everyone is enjoying. We (I, especially) REALLY enjoyed the cooler weather. One day it was nice enough to take a walk to the playground. Gotta love that!
Sweet Caitlyn and Keegan
Bill took the girls fishing one day. The big catch of the day was on old rod reeled in by Caitlyn :-).
That's all right, though. I don't think anyone (except perhaps Bill) would want to deal with a fish on a hook, anyway.
Kelsey learning to cast.
See? I can do this.
Bye for now!

Sleepover, part 2
Sleepover summary:
Instead of a birthday cake, Keegan wanted the girls to decorate cupcakes. They did a super job and the cupcakes turned out so cute! A great idea from Family Fun.
Stealing an idea from a birthday party my girls went to this summer, each girl decorated a pair of flip flops by tying on strips of cloth. Again, very cute :-).
They painted little ceramic ponies, pulled ribbons to open a pinata, ate pizza, made (and ate, of course) ice cream, played outside, and burned sparklers.
Caitlyn and Keegan came up with the idea of stations for hair, make-up, and nails. Caitlyn fixed hair, her friend did make-up, and I did nails. Then another mom volunteered to paint flowers on their nails (thanks, Kristi!) Cool. And definitely more talent than I have. But as soon as I took her picture she said, "Please don't post that on your blog." Can you believe it?!?
Finally, the girls watched "Mary Poppins" and (mostly) went to sleep.
Keegan had a blast. I can't believe my baby is eight years old! Thanks to the moms who let their girls visit. We enjoyed having them!

Caitlyn is Lucy!!!!!
More exciting news at our house - Caitlyn was cast in the role of "Lucy" in the upcoming Prince Caspian ballet!
Caitlyn wanted this role really badly. It combined her 2 favorite things - reading and ballet. Not only that, but her FAVORITE character (Lucy) in her FAVORITE series (Narnia.) Ever since she learned that this would be this year's ballet, she has been hoping for this part. So we are all very excited at our house.
Caitlyn and the boy who will play Edmund.
Keegan is 8!!!!!
Our sweet Keegan turned 8 today! What a blessing she is in our lives.
Keegan and Kook, ready to open presents this morning.
Enjoying her first birthday cake, turning 1.

Caitlyn quote
I asked Caitlyn this discussion question from a book ,"Where is the nicest home you have ever visited?"
Her answer, "I guess - here - even though I don't really visit."
I think I need to take some lessons in contentment from my precious daughter!
