Audition week :-)

This was a busy week for our family. Six days out of seven, at least some of us went to some sort of auditions. Caitlyn, Keegan, and Kelsey tried out for two different shows plus we went to help at and watch some of the adult auditions.

Saturday were tryouts for this year's ballet. My camera was in Bill's car's trunk at the time :(, but a friend of mine took some pictures for me :), so hopefully I can post some of those soon. This was a long, fun day for the girls. Caitlyn has just moved up to the senior company, which is very exciting for her. But she was also nervous about trying out with all those talented older girls :). Keegan is in a similar situation, having just moved into the junior company. And Kelsey just moved up to the Apprentice company, so all 3 girls are young in their groups. But they all did a great job and we can't wait to see what everyone's roles will be!

All 3 girls also auditioned for a musical. The judges had a terrible job, as over 200 super, talented, great people auditioned, setting a new record for this group. These pictures are from those auditions. First, Caitlyn watching a demonstration of dance steps (the dancing her favorite part, naturally :-). Keegan, acting mad, and Kelsey, thinking of an idea. They were sooooo cute! Caitlyn is sooooo cute, too, but since she is 12, I'll try to refrain from saying so :-)!

We got good news and sad news. It is very exciting that Caitlyn and Keegan were cast! But Kelsey wasn't this time, which of course is a major disappointment. But I am proud of her getting out there and trying (you'll not find me on a stage!!!!) And I'm super proud of how she is happy for her sisters.

Caitlyn and Keegan both hoped to be in the kickline. Turns out that Caitlyn is too old, but Keegan and her good buddy Sophia (the 2 in the middle) both made it! She is a happy, happy girl.

See you soon!

Kelsey Quote

We were watching some auditions tonite and had seen and spoken to several people that we know. Kelsey said, "Wow. Not like at the grocery store, but at the theater and the dance studio, everyone recognizes us!"

Little C

Well, if you're on Facebook, you already know the saga. But if not, (is anybody not on Facebook now, really?) this is our new cat, Little C. It stands for cute, cuddly cat.

She followed the girls and I home from a walk about two weeks ago. Bill took her back to the area we found her twice and she beat him back both times :). So, we have made it official. She is named and ours now. Kelsey says, "Now I can say our catS, instead of just our cat."

She really is a sweet kitty. Kelsey and Keegan carry her around ALL THE TIME and she just purrs. Win over the kids and you win over the mommy, I guess :).

I called her a kitten when she first followed us home, but she has doubled in size since then. She looks so big in this picture. Kelsey also said, "I never thought we would have a kitten again!" Can you tell she's excited? She is extremely attached to this cat, and soooooo happy that we are going to keep it. She keeps trying to share the joy with Bill by offering hom opportunities tohold and pet the cat. He is less enthusiastic, haha.

Flashback!

For no special reason other than it's cute and I scanned it when I borrowed the scanner :). This is 2005 and the girls were going to a costume party. Keegan was her (then new) puppy Sweetie.

=P

Well, yesterday was the first day of ballet. Today, Caitlyn, Keegan, and Kelsey all have strep throat. BOOOOOooooooooo. Sorry to everyone we exposed yesterday. Good thing we are so lovable or people might hold that against us. Caitlyn is the only one who really feels bad. Kelsey was so sad to miss her first dance class of the year (she doesn't take on Mondays.) It was pretty pitiful. Hopefully we caught Keegan's and Kelsey's early enough that their throats won't get too sore. And we did get to sit around and read together and work on puzzles, which isn't bad at all :-). Hopefully the next post will be a healthier one.

P.S. But even sick, Caitlyn won at Match of the Penguins.

Kelsey quote

Kelsey, "Umm. This tastes so good!"

Bill, "What is it?"

Kelsey, "Dental floss."

Rock Star Party!!!!!

I can load pictures again - WOOT!!!!

The girls went to a friend's rock star birthday party. What a fun idea! And we had a ball getting together their costumes. We did glitter, colored hair spray, glitzy eyelashes (fell off,) the whole works. They each had their unique look. I loved it!

Kelsey was the glamour girl

Keegs had more of a teen-age style. And Caitlyn was the 80's rocker. The girls thought I was crazy with the cut up shirt, but she looked great!

So, if you happen to see us soon, please tell my children I am NOT crazy, that this was THE style for rockers in the 80's. (OK, possibly the style and me being crazy are 2 different topics, but just go with me here :-).

Hello!

Well , I am sure you all have been wondering where I have been, waiting with baited breath for the next update in the life of my family, haha.

First things first, my excuse for not posting....
I had some work done on my computer which, yea!, fixed my Facebook problems, but now I can't get my pictures to upload. Boo, hiss. So I was waiting until I could. But I still can't, so hopefully soon....

In good news, we got to visit my great friend who is a missionary in Cameroon!!! She is home after being gone for a 4 year term. I was thrilled to get to spend time with her and her wonderful family (even MRS. BOSCH!!!! - hahahaha - private joke.) Her children were just one and newborn when they left, so I got to meet cute little people that were only babies the last time I saw them!

Dance is getting ready to start back up again. They are all registered an Caitlyn has brand new pointe shoes. All three girls, Caitlyn especially, are sooooooo ready to go back. This year our company's show is Exodus: The Story of Moses and we are all excited about that!

Keegan has started practices with her new soccer team. She has 3 coaches who REALLY know their stuff. After just 3 practices, she has already learned so much! They are already working on their strategies, working as a unit, all sorts of stuff. I can't wait to watch this team as they progress and learn.

Keegan is also eagerly anticipating her 9th birthday. Very eagerly. I have already nixed her plans to take friends to the beach to celebrate.

I am desperately clinging on to these last summer days. I seem to be the only one not totally ready to move on, but that's normal for me :-). I am looking forward to getting back into the swing of things, too. All the girls activities are so fun for them and for me, too!

Hope you all had a wonderful summer. I'll (HOPEFULLY) be posting pictures soon!
